CybergymIEC, the global leader in cyber defense training, proudly announces the launch of Cyber Arena Romania, located in Bucharest Romania, in strategic partnership with Eximprod Grup, Arctic Stream, and a team of internationally recognized engineering consultants. This marks the 23rd Cyber Arena deployed globally and Romania’s first dedicated cyber training hub featuring both IT and OT (SCADA) environments.

As cyber threats across Europe grow in both frequency and sophistication, so does the urgency to strengthen national and industrial cyber resilience. From energy utilities to financial institutions, sectors are being pushed to the brink by advanced cyberattacks. Cyber Arena Romania directly answers this call, offering over 200 hands-on training modules designed to simulate real-world attacks and build practical skills across every level of cyber readiness. The Cyber Arena is built to prepare teams for the worst, so they can deliver the best defense when it counts.

Built for Romania’s Unique Threat Landscape

Cyber Arena Romania is more than a training facility; it’s a strategic national resource. Leveraging real industrial equipment, the Arena provides live cyber-attack simulations on SCADA networks, empowering trainees to detect, contain, and mitigate cyber threats in realistic high-stakes environments.

The Arena offers targeted programs for industries including energy, gas utilities, banking, and manufacturing, with plans to expand to other sectors. Courses span from basic awareness to advanced incident response and forensics, giving participants full-spectrum exposure to simulated attack environments, from reconnaissance and infiltration to system recovery and prevention.

“We are entering a new stage in Romania’s cybersecurity evolution. The European NIS2 directive obliges companies in critical sectors to enhance their cyber resilience, not only through technology, but through people. That’s exactly what Cyber Arena provides: education, awareness, and the ability to act under pressure.” Says Ioana Manea, Chief Innovation Officer, Arctic Stream and Director, Cyber Arena Romania.

Powered by the CyberPod Platform: Advanced, Adaptive, On-Site Training

Cyber Arena Romania incorporates the CyberPod training environment, CybergymIEC’s modular, on-site training platform featuring both IT and OT/SCADA simulation capabilities. Built in collaboration with Israel Electric Corporation (IEC), CyberPod training environments replicate the exact networks and hardware organizations use every day, including PLCs, HMIs, OT firewalls, HVAC systems, and more.

This immersive training, guided by CybergymIEC’s elite Red Team, comprised of former government cyber operatives, prepares participants to face persistent, complex threats in a controlled but realistic setting.

Part of a Global Network of Cyber Arenas

With Arenas now on five continents, Cyber Arena Romania stands at the intersection of global expertise and local execution. It not only helps Romanian organizations meet EU compliance standards like NIS2, but it also strengthens regional cybersecurity posture through community-building, live drills, and industry-specific programs.

“Securing Operational Technology (OT) environments, such as critical infrastructure environments, differs from IT security primarily because its core mission is to protect physical processes and real-world infrastructure, not just data. These environments operate under unique constraints, often using legacy systems, which require specialized training. Cyber Arena Romania will offer organizations in Romania the best specialized training and the ability to perform live drills on realistic kinetic OT models against a team of human hackers (red team) trying to evade their defensive attempts in real-time. The realism level and the specialized OT expertise is like no other in the world.” Says Ofir Hason, Co-Founder and CEO, CybergymIEC
